Burning ISO to DVD

The Indigenous Impact videos are available over the Internet as DVD image files, called ISOs. Unlike a regular data file, the ISO file cannot be dragged and dropped or copied directly onto a disc. It needs to be burned in a specific way that expands/extracts the image so you have usable files on your disc.

To watch the Indigenous Impact DVDs, you first need to burn the downloaded ISO image onto a DVD. This requires:

  • A CD/DVD burning software
  • A working CD/DVD burner
  • A recordable DVD with a capacity of 4.7 GB

General Steps for Burning an ISO image file to DVD

  1. Insert a blank DVD in the drive and select “Do Nothing” or “Cancel” if an autorun dialog pops up.
  2. Open your CD/DVD writing software.
  3. Select burn image to disc. Possibly in the “Backup” or the “Copy CD/DVD” section of your software.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and select your ISO file.
  5. Click “Burn” or “OK” to create your DVD. The burning process will automatically begin. The time it takes to burn will depend on the size of the ISO file and the speed of both your PC and your CD/DVD burner.
  6. When the burning is complete, the DVD will automatically eject from the drive. You can remove the disc and close your CD/DVD writing software.
